It started at The Cliffs at Glassy, where I fell in love with the precision and science behind maintaining golf course turf. That passion sent me to Clemson University, where I earned both my undergraduate and master's degrees in turfgrass science — studying under Dr. Bert McCarty, one of the world's leading turfgrass weed scientists.

After graduating, I spent three years as Dr. McCarty's research technician at Clemson, deploying real-world trials on weed control and fertilization products specifically for the grass types we grow here in the Southeast. I wasn't just learning about turf — I was helping write the playbook on it.

When I started Red Lab Lawn Care, I built our programs directly from that research experience. Every treatment we apply is grounded in proven science — not guesswork, not generic schedules. And the results speak for themselves.

The name? That's Wallen — our red lab, and the heart of the brand.
